KaleidAScope offers three distinct programs; Social Interaction, Workplace Integration, and Independent Living. A brief description of each is below.

KaleidAScope Programs

SOCIAL INTERACTION PROGRAM

KaliedAScope has several options and programs available to assist individuals with Autism Spectrum profiles to improve social-relational skills. Individualized assessment and planning is the first step in delineating needs in this area. Treatment goals are determined and agreed upon by the individual and his/her support team.

Skill enhancement is offered through individual and group therapies which focus on all skills from basic to more specific needs. Social skills can also be learned and practiced through KaleidAScope’s Community Integration services financed by the PA DPW Adult Autism Waiver program or through more intensive community recreation as agreed upon with the individual’s personal support team.

KaleidAScope also provides opportunities sponsoring social events at regular intervals throughout the year. These events are often provided free of charge and funded by regional grant opportunities.

WORKPLACE INTEGRATION

Employment is one of the most important steps towards independence. KaleidAScope assists individuals with Autism Spectrum profiles in the area of Workplace Integration with necessary social and relational skills, prevocational skills, determination of interest, future short and long term goals, and skills related to employment determination, securing employment, and employment maintenance.

With knowledge and expertise, individuals in the ‘spectrum’ are assisted to develop realistic plans, provided skills and knowledge to accomplish their plans, and given all the support to carry out workplace expectations and responsibilities.

INDEPENDENT LIVING

When independent living is the desired goal, KaleidAScope’s Independent Living services can help the adult with many aspects. From learning about and securing the necessary fundamental information, supports, and materials to live an independent life, to problem solving various aspects of an independent lifestyle KaleidAScope provides options for each individual’s specific situation. Services can be offered on a private individual basis through individual therapy, during Community Integration services funded by the PA DPW Adult Autism Waiver program, or in a group therapy format.

Individuals in the ‘spectrum’ are often quite capable of many of the basic aspects of independent life but struggle with smaller areas of concern that can create major consequences for them. Based on years of working and specializing with individuals in the spectrum, many of these concerns can be addressed or even prevented, ensuring a relaxed and happy, well-deserved adult life.
